Mr. Hamamoto is the chairman of Fill group in Japan, and has worked in a wallpaper industry for more than 30 years. For 21 years since established in 2001, he is currently the biggest renowned wallcovering distributor in Japan.
After the establishment of Fill Inc, an online store operation was launched in 2001, under the name "KABAGAMI YA HONPO". HONPO handles a wide variety of products, from wallpapers to flooring, paint, decorative panels and more.
Store manager Hayashi oversees the planning of new wall coverings, direction, marketing, and events.
10 years after, Fill Inc opened their second online store WALPA in 2011, which specializes in worldwide imported wallpapers. WALPA distributes more than 160 renowned brands from all over the world now. In Japan, 1200m of wallpaper have been sold daily to homeowners, Interior Designers and Architects.
Today, the number of 'condominiums with wallpaper choices' and 'DIY customizable rental housing' has increased in Japan. It is due to an increasing interest in wallpapers among the Japanese, who are being educated about wallpapers, and having fun with the process at the same time.
OSAKA HEADQUARTERS
WALPA also started and expanded various walk-in stores as well, such as Wallpaper Museum in Osaka and HONPO Lab. Wallpaper Museum is the headquarters of KABEGAMI YA HONPO and Walpa, which is in Osaka. HONPO Lab is a hands-on showroom, which lets customers experience and sample the catalogues of products sold in the web stores.
He has plans to being the culture of wallpaper to further countries, such as Taiwan, Singapore and Vietnam.
